Read Part 1 of the blog here: A Little Slice of Magic in Dali
We slept the kind of deep, heavy sleep you only get in the mountains, eventually waking to a chorus of birdsong and the soft light of a Dali dawn.
Before I’d even thought about splashing my face with water, the Mister was already out at the terrace in his workout gear. There’s something quite heroic about doing a morning session when the view looks like a watercolour painting, complete with a pond of lazily swimming fish and a riot of wildflowers right at your feet.

Soon, the call of breakfast (and our friends) became too loud to ignore.
And oh, what a spread it was!
I’m not exaggerating when I say we tried just about everything.
We hovered somewhere between local delicacies and classic comforts, piling our plates with a variety of pastries and fruits from the buffet before ordering a dizzying array of cooked dishes to the table.

All washed down with plenty of hot coffee and even better conversation.
Time has a funny way of disappearing when you’re surrounded by good food and even better company, the morning simply melted away.

The morning sunlight transformed the resort entirely, casting a whole new light over everything. The garden tables were absolutely glowing, and the pool had taken on that gorgeous, sparkly, shimmering quality.

We decided to retire to our room for a quick freshen-up; the plan being a slow, indulgent afternoon.
I’ll be curling up with my book while the mister tackles a bit of light work.

As we approached noon, a light tap came from the door and our friends from next door popped over for a natter. We spilled out onto the terrace, the air warm and still, and let the morning melt into the afternoon.
There’s really nothing quite like a long, rambling chat in the sunshine to feed the soul.
But of course, the only thing better than a terrace chat is one accompanied by a proper afternoon tea spread!

We wandered down to the garden, where the wonderfully thoughtful staff had laid out a feast on a sun-dappled table.

The most inviting tumble of delicate pastries, mountain fruits, and savoury snacks!
Our friends toasted to the afternoon with chilled sparkling wine, while the mister and I (the soon-to-be-mummy!) clinked glasses of a crisp, refreshing iced tea.

Sitting there, surrounded by greenery and good company, it felt like the very definition of ‘the good life’.
As the golden hour began to stretch across the garden, I found myself overwhelmed by a quiet, humdrum sort of gratitude.
There is something so profoundly beautiful about an uneventful day, a day where the only thing on the agenda is to simply be. To have our health, our energy, and this precious time to soak in the world around us (and the little soul growing within) is the greatest luxury of all.
We retreated back to our room feeling entirely refreshed, our hearts as full as our tummies, ready to drift off to the sound of the mountain breeze. What a truly dreamy day.
With love x
