As Malaysia goes into a period of lockdown from 18th to 31st March, I will be publishing a new post on this blog everyday to keep all my friends back home company. This post is part of the #Lockdown series.

Day 5 of self-isolation — how are you getting on?

I am not switched on right now. I’m lying in bed with my eyes wide shut. Not à la Stanley Kubrick (not that lush), but more like a bottlenose dolphin — somehow asleep with my eyes open. My brain has shut down, as though it’s fought a war and given birth to triplets all in one day. I am shattered.

But before I go to sleep, I thought I’d share a few photos with you. I spent some time at the Esquire Townhouse on Pall Mall — a place with a lounge, a loft, a grooming room, beautiful people, but rather mediocre hand wash and somewhat diluted coffee.

I had a great time there and met polar explorer Mark Wood. While everyone else was busy asking about his motivation, his willpower, the causes he cares about, and his solo Arctic expedition — all the usual — I asked him what he does when he gets bored on the road.

He said that’s his biggest challenge.

Mic dropped.

OK, I will return tomorrow with a more wordy post. Until then, enjoy this one. Beggars can’t be choosers!

With love x
