Twinings has been in London for more than 300 years, and its shop on the Strand was the first tea room it established back in 1706. It is situated directly opposite the Royal Courts of Justice, “straddling the border between Westminster and the City of London — an area that was newly populated with the finest of London’s aristocracy as a result of the Great Fire of London.”
Twinings offers more than just a trusted range of Earl Greys, herbal infusions and elegant teaware; it is a quintessentially British shop that embodies the nation’s long-standing esteem and love for tea.

In the old Twinings tea shop, there is a Loose Tea Bar where customers can smell and sample a variety of teas, as well as a small museum displaying the stories and photographs of the Twinings family alongside antique teapots and caddies. 216 Strand has, of course, been redecorated and modernised over the years — which is why there is now a Pick ‘n’ Mix bar, where you can fill a box of tea for as little as 15 teabags for £3!
Caramelised apple, apple crunch, butter mint, double mint, fudge melts, cherry Bakewell, gingerbread, salted caramel (!!!)… goodness knows why I went completely mad.
